Event Discussion
- Dini Vigliano works hard coordinating the refreshments for the monthly meetings. She still needs more people to sign up. There are usually 4-5 people each month. Please contact Dini to sign up for a meeting.
- Holiday Party – Jan. 7, 2024 – A proposal was suggested to move the party from an early dinner to lunch. This would enable attendees to drive in the daylight hours rather than at night. A vote was taken and most preferred lunch. Carol Allen will check with the Bay Pony Inn to move the party to lunch.
- Club Picnic in June – If we want to have the annual picnic at Green Lane Park, we need to reserve the pavilion early. Reservations open Nov. 1. Barbara Gormley will try to reserve the pavilion for June 8, 2024.
- A suggestion was made to hold an obstacle course activity. It’s been several years since we’ve done this. Maybe for November.
New Club Logo
- Karl Beers’ niece has her own design business and had offered to help with the design. Karl presented her design concept using text fonts used by Ford – classic Ford Script and Ford Antenna. There are four color options (the colors Ford initially offered for the Model A) – Black, Andalusian Blue, Balsam Green and Bonnie Gray. By using one color design it’s less expensive to have printed and embroidered on apparel. Tiffany’s design featured a sedan or a coupe. The members voted for the sedan as the featured car and black as the color for the website.
Possible Scholarship Fund Contribution
- Marv McKown presented more information about a possible scholarship to Penn College of Technology, School of Restoration. Scholarships are based on donor-designated criteria. The minimum scholarship is $1000. We can select someone from a specific geographic area. Scholarships can be renewed for an individual or another student can be chosen. Tuition is approximately $14,000 for the 2-year course. 81% of graduates remain in Pennsylvania. Approx. 700 employers attend the school job fair. A scholarship committee should be named to decide a dollar amount and select the recipient. This will be discussed in detail at the October meeting.
Car Updates
- Marv McKown is selling Model A parts. He also needs some information on headlights he has. They have the parking light on top and they work.
