Minutes of the Meeting – October 2, 2023
The meeting, held at Trinity UCC Church, was called to order at 7:00 pm by President Carol Allen. There were 30 members in attendance.
Secretary’s Minutes – The minutes of the September meeting were read and approved.
Treasurer’s Report – The Treasury balance as of October 2, is $20,825.89. Mark Howard reviewed an estimated expense/income report for next year. It was agreed that the Treasury should be reviewed throughout the year. Newly enacted expenses for 2024, approved at the meeting, are:
Future Activities (NPMAFC-sponsored activities in bold)
Tom looked into a trip on the Colebrookdale RR and the Ivyland-New Hope RR. Members agreed the trips were too expensive for a club activity.
Pennsylvania College of Technology Scholarship Fund Contribution
Marv McKown spoke with Shannon Dougherty from the school’s program administration. The selection of scholarship recipients is made by the Director of Financial Aid. The school gives 250 scholarships at a time. A list of who’s giving a scholarship is posted by the school and students can apply.
Preference will be given to students:
Our commitment is for one year. We can add to the scholarship during the year. If we send a check for November, it would be applied to the Spring semester. Marv made a motion to donate $1000 for one year. The motion passed unanimously.
New Business
Cliff Craley will be sending the 2024 dues renewal ($20/family) and Holiday Party notice ($10/person) later this week. Also included will be a form to renew MARC dues for 2024 (paid by the Club).
The election of officers for next year will be held at the December meeting. If anyone has questions about the officers’ duties, don’t hesitate to contact Carol Allen, Fred Coyne, Mark Howard or Diane Hall.
Next Meeting
The next meeting will be held on Monday evening, November 13, 2023, at 7:00 pm at Trinity UCC Church (2009 Church Road, Skippack, PA 19474).
Refreshments will be provided by MacIlwain, Gormley, Reed and Valeri.

- For tours organized by the Club, the Club will pay the admission for members’ participation or donate $100 per tour, whichever is greater.
- Club apparel credit (one-time event) - Members will have a $25 credit toward purchase of new Club apparel.
- 2024 MARC dues of $50/family will be paid by the club.

- Oct. 7-8 – Hay Creek Apple Festival and Craft Fair, 1250 Furnace Road, Geigertown, PA 19523. Saturday - 7:00 am-5:00 pm; Sunday – 7:00 am-3:00 pm. Free admission
- Oct. 7 – Heidelberg Church Car show
- Nov. 18 – Lansdale 72nd Annual Mardi Gras Parade – 1:00 pm. Details to follow
- Nov. 23 – Thomas Massey House Thanksgiving Day Run – 8:00 am. (Lawrence Rd at Springhouse Rd, near Sproul Rd, Broomall). Sponsored by the Historical Car Club of Pennsylvania. Serving coffee and donuts. Bring some food for a local food bank and a toy for the Toys for Tots drive.
- Dec. 2 – Souderton Holiday Parade – 11:00 am. Line up at 9:45 am at Grace Bible Church, 423 North Main St, Souderton 18964) Club members are encouraged to decorate their cars – but no Santa Claus.
- Jan. 7, 2024 – Holiday Party at Bay Pony Inn. As voted last month, the party will be moved to lunchtime and afternoon (12:00 noon-5:00 pm). Members will pay $10/person and the Club will pay $25/person.

- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Demonstrate financial need
- Must reside in SE Pennsylvania (Montgomery, Berks, Bucks, Lehigh, Lancaster, Chester, Delaware, Philadelphia counties)
