Suggestion – We all have a bunch of old Model A News magazine in our homes. We might think about putting a couple in our cars for the occasion when someone comes around to have a closer look. Give them the magazine to take and learn more. A new hobbyist may be on your door step, or running board...

Ray Bosler gave an interesting history of his 1929 Roadster. His father purchased the car in 1959. He wanted a 1929 Roadster because he dated his wife in one. At the time he was working at Phoenixville Iron and Steel. He paid $78 for the Model A, towed it home and started working on it. He restored the car frame off in his garage. His father was a member of the North Philadelphia Model A Club and North Penn Model A Club. (Several meeting attendees fondly remembered his father.) His father went to the New Hope car show and got an honorable mention. His father then sold the car to Ray for $1. He rechromed, renickeled. His father had a lot of parts in boxes stored in the basement that Ray never checked out – until after he bought the same parts. Ray put white-wall tires on and his father thought that was terrible – they had to be black. Ray had the car repainted. He recently went to the New Hope car show – and this time won 1st prize (40 years after his father got honorable mention). Everyone thoroughly enjoyed learning all about Ray’s father and the history of the car.
Monthly meetings are discontinued during the summer. The next meeting will be held on Monday, September 9, at 7:00 pm at Trinity UCC Church.
