Minutes of the Meeting
May 7, 2018
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by President Phil Christ. The meeting was held at Penndale Middle School, Lansdale, PA. There were 37 members in attendance.
Secretary’s Report – The April minutes were read and approved as submitted.
Treasurer’s Report – The Treasury balance is $4927.74.
Members to report on
Gary Volpe is doing fine.
Elsa Dages had hip surgery on April 10 and is good spirits. She’s not to put any weight on her leg for 3 months.
Don Driesbach is on hospice. A card was passed around the meeting for everyone to sign,
Old Business
Fifty tickets have been sold for the raffle of Dave Wood’s table and Carol Berlinger’s painting. Tickets are $5 each being sold by Jack Wright. A decision will be made at the June meeting whether to go ahead and hold the raffle now. The money raised goes to charity.
Events
The tech session was held at Old Forge on April 14.
The 3-day Lancaster County tour (May 3-5) was very successful. A lot to see and do.
The Trexlertown Model A Ford Day Show and Swap was held on April 22 at a new place – nicer, more room. Howard Kriebel conducted a seminar. A big turnout.

May 17 - North Penn High School Car Show, 9:15 AM - 1: PM, NPHS. The school needs a list of names to make up badges. Rain date – Friday, May 18
May 19 – Ambler Auto Show on Butler Pike, Ambler, 1-6 p.m. Rain date May 20, 12n – 5 p.m. Awards for Best of Show, Top 50, Major Sponsors Awards
May 26 – Harleysville Memorial Day Parade, sponsored by the Rotary Club. Contact Gary Volpe for details.
May 28 - Memorial Day Parade, Collegeville/Trappe. Howard Kriebel coordinating. Meet at 9 a.m. at Augustus Lutheran Church. Rain date May 29.
June 9 - NPMAFC Picnic, Green Lane. Meet at Walmart Harleysville at 10:00 AM or go directly to the park at 11:00 AM. Bring covered dish; see Ruth Ann Christ for details.
June 16 – Lansdale Under the Lights Show - Cancelled, but see replacement: Smaller show planned; see www.discoverlansdale.org for further info. Advanced reservation advised - $13.
June 23 – Heidelberg UCC Church Car Show. 11 a.m.-4 p.m. (1101 Cowpath Rd, Hatfield)
July 4 – Oreland Parade. See Carol Allen. Meet at Worcester School, 9AM
August 4 – Macungie breakfast at the Woods, 8AM, then Macungie. RSVP Susan Wood.
Date TBD - Driving tour and car games at Mermaid Lake (maybe during the summer)
TBD – Driving someone else’s Model A at North Penn High School (maybe in the fall)
Miscellaneous
Ruth Ann Christ passed out Club business cards for members to pass on to prospective members
Howard Kriebel showed a reproduction catalog he obtained at the Lapp Farm of handcrafts by Henry Lapp from the early 1800’s (toys, beds, etc.).
Dave Buehler donated some books donated to the club for sale/auction. Frank Gormley bought one.
A friend of Tom Hudecki has two cars for sale – ’31 Model A 4-door sedan and ’27 Model T
2-door sedan. Both run but need restoration work. Both are at Old Forge.
50/50 raffle was won by Ruth Ann Christ (who drew her own ticket).
The tech talk was on getting the car ready to drive for the season. Check battery, oil, tires, lights, fan belt, generator, distributor, etc. Check for leaks under car. Have fire extinguisher,
The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p.m. The next meeting will be held on June 4 at the Penndale Middle School.
