Model A Restorers Club News
There was discussion about MARC meets and seminars. Bob Martino and Frank Falcone have attended several and agree that these are very worthwhile. Great cars and especially great networking. Frank is on the Touring Class Committee. The National Meet will be in Dearborn, MI, Aug. 4-10. MARC national meets and tours will be put on our Club calendar.
The MARC magazine, Model “A” News, includes input from individual clubs around the country. Our Club has not submitted anything in recent years. We need someone to volunteer to submit a write-up.
Car Updates
Carol Allen reported that Ed White’s hotrod is sold.
Jerry Watson wants to sell his 1929 Model 49A.
The 50/50 raffle was won by Ed Roth.
Tech Session
Bob Martino gave a very interesting presentation on the restoration of his early 1928 Phaeton. He included numerous slides of various restoration points. For fine point judging, the year and month a vehicle was produced is important in order to have the correct parts. Bob remarked that the hunt for an elusive part is part of the thrill. It should be noted that Bob received a literary award for his Model “A” Restorers article on the restoration of his 1927 Model AA truck (which received the MARC of Excellence Award and the Henry Ford Award).
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
The next meeting will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019 at the Penndale Middle School.
Refreshments for the April meeting will be provided by John Elliott, Joe Silverman, Jim Ford, Ray Bosler and Doug Emerson.
Minutes prepared by Diane Hall.
