Howard Kriebel gave an excellent tech talk on Model A horns. He discussed the proper care and maintenance and tips on how to adjust the horn to sound its best. When lubricating the horn, make sure you use just a drop of oil. He had several sample horns (Spartan, Ames and FM) to pass around so that the members could see what the inside of the horn looks like. There should not be any excuses for our horns to sound “sick” at our next parade. Thank you, Howard.
Next Meeting
The next meeting will be held on Monday evening, September 11, 2023, at 7:00 pm at Trinity UCC Church (2009 Church Road, Skippack, PA 19474).
Refreshments will be provided by Vigliano, Wilson, Posen, Russo and Decker.

Club Picnic at Green Lane Park – June 17
- Frank Gormley is organizing the car tour to the picnic. Meet at 10:00 am at the Harleysville McDonalds, Henning’s Shopping Center (274 Main Street, Harleysville). At the park there will be an area for all the Model A’s to park together.
- Barbara Gormley is coordinating the food. Please contact Barbara to sign up. The Club provides hamburgers/rolls/condiments and beverages. Jack Wright and Ken Valeri volunteered to cook the burgers. Club members bring side dishes and desserts. A sign-up sheet was passed around during the May and June meetings. The pavilion has electric outlets and it’s suggested that people bring power strips to heat crockpots, etc.
- The pavilion is reserved from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.
Club Apparel
- Barbara Gormley presented information and prices for possible Club apparel items (jacket, fleece vest, various hats, sun visor, T-shirt, etc.). Prices are: jacket $55, fleece vest $30, baseball hat $13, visor $14. There is a one-time $25 set-up fee for the logo.
- Mark Howard created a sample club logo which was passed around the meeting. Karl Beers’ niece designs logos and has offered to help with the design.
Possible Scholarship Fund Contribution
- Marv McKown’s scheduled visit on May 16 to Williamsport’s Penn College of Technology, School of Restoration was cancelled due to final exams. The School of Restoration has two separate programs – for modern and antique vehicles. He learned that they mostly work on vehicles from museums (i.e., AACA Hershey, Rolls Royce, etc.). Marv plans to meet with the finance manager, which probably won’t be until the fall when school reopens. The Club needs to decide a dollar amount and how the money will be applied.
- A contribution to the MARC Youth Program was also recommended by Dave and Joan Whitmire.
