Model A Ford Foundation and Museum
The Club received a nice thank-you letter from the Model A Ford Foundation and Museum for the $300 donation ($150 to the endowment fund and $150 to the Museum operational fund). All of the cars at the museum are continually serviced and maintained in running condition.
Members to Report on
Cheryl Emerson has not recovered fully from leg surgery in November and is using a wheelchair.
Irene MacIlwain is ill.
Doug Emerson printed photos taken at the Holiday Party and also the refreshments list for 2020 meetings.
Business
Discussion was introduced to once again have the club’s portion of the 50/50 raffle go into the Treasury general fund, rather than into the charity fund. A motion was made and passed.
A suggestion was made to change some of the monthly meetings (i.e., date, time and location). We would continue to schedule meetings at the Penndale Middle School but tentatively hold some meetings on a Saturday morning, with a short business meeting first and then hands-on experience. Some suggested locations were Club members’ garages, meeting with another Model A club, or at a Ford dealership. The motion passed. The March meeting will be held on Saturday, March 7th, at 9:30 a.m. at Joe Rogers’ garage in Boyertown (320 S. Washington St.). (Directions listed at the end of the minutes.)
Gary Volpe is being honored by the Greater Harleysville and North Penn Senior Services as a Pillar of the Community at a dinner on May 8th. He is being recognized because of his charitable work through his company and his participation in various local organizations. A motion was made and passed to take out a $250 ad in the program booklet to support the organization in recognition of Gary.

MARC News
Mark Howard submitted an “on the road again” article on Club’s activities for the March/April issue of Model “A” News magazine. (His articles are published on the Club’s website.)
The 50/50 raffle was won by Bob Martino.
Program
Howard Kriebel’s presentation was on what was included in the purchase price of a new Model A. Included was a tool pouch with 13 tools, 5 wheels, 4 tires and tubes, tire pump, grease gun and an owner’s manual. The 5th tire/tube was an extra, often supplied by the dealer at a nominal cost, usually $5. There were several different owners’ manuals, reflecting “new model year” correction/fixes – 5 for 1928, 2 for 1929, 4 for 1930, 2 for 1931. Howard urged everyone to read the manual. Other recommendations (from experience) are –
Do not overtighten the belts
Never put electronic parts on a Model A
Howard also recommended an excellent reference book, Model A Service Bulletins Complete, 1928-1931.
NOTE - The next meeting will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at Joe Rogers’ garage in Boyertown. We will tour his car collection immediately following a short business meeting.
