Minutes of the Meeting
February 4, 2019
The meeting (held at Penndale Middle School, Lansdale, PA) was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by President Phil Christ. There were 35 members in attendance.
Secretary’s Report – The December minutes were read. Addition to the minutes: The gift certification given to Pete Watson for hosting the Tech Sessions was for Outback Restaurant. The minutes were approved as revised.
Treasurer’s Report – The current Treasury balance is $4712.10. Ed reserved space at Green Lane for the Club’s picnic on June 15.
Membership
Mark reported that 56 families have renewed membership for 2019. There are two new members. Rich Andrews, a long-time member, did not renew for health reasons. He is still welcome to attend meetings and participate in tours.
Members to report on
Jim Reed’s mother passed away. The service was held last week.
Howard Kriebel had carpal tunnel surgery.
Awards
The awards ballot return rate was 61%. The awards were given out at the Holiday Party. Winners were:

Most Helpful – Tom Hudecki
Rusty Wrench – Gary and Janet Volpe
President’s Member Appreciation Award – Doug and Cheryl Emerson
Events to Report on
Dec. 15 - Old Forge final “Cars and Coffee”. Many members attended. Pete Watson still goes into the office. Members can stop in to see him if they are in the area.
Jan. 1 – New Year’s Day run and lunch – A good turn-out of Model A and classic cars. Visited Necessity Farm, a totally organic operation. They have an aquaponics operation, using tilapia, growing several types of lettuce and watercress. Lunch was at the Family Heritage Diner.
Jan. 6 – Holiday Party at Bay Pony Inn. Attended by 46 people. Ellen Berlinger ran a successful gift swap. The motion to book the Bay Pony Inn for the 2020 Holiday Party was approved. A question regarding including a cheese tray before dinner is tabled until the September meeting.
Future Events
March 3 – Hamburg Swap Meet and Car Corral, Hamburg Fire Co. Field House, 127 S 4th St – Rear (Pine St.), Hamburg – 7am-2pm. Admission $2
March 16 – National Museum of Industrial History and walking tour of the steel stacks, Bethlehem. Highlights industry in the Lehigh Valley. Museum charge - $9 seniors. Ed Roth coordinating.
April 6 – “Manufacturing Victory: The Arsenal of Democracy” exhibit at Mercer Museum, Doylestown. The exhibit highlights contributions made on the American home front during World War II. It also showcases notable Bucks County industries during the war and life on the home front. Diane Hall coordinating.

The Club is looking for volunteers to coordinate activities, as well as suggestions for future activities. Some suggestions were:
Miscellaneous
Doug Emerson offered some wool blankets from his mother to Club members for use in their cars.
Volunteers are still needed to provide refreshments at some meetings. Contact Dini Vigiliano.
Car Updates
Carol Allen reported that Ed White’s hotrod is still available; one offer of $14,000 received. The house and property will be put up for sale in the near future. If anyone is seriously interested in some of the antique furniture, they can contact Ed White’s nephew.
The 50/50 raffle was won by Ray Bosler.
Tech Session
Tom Hudecki is pulling together a list of tools that people should carry in their cars. Some items discussed were crank handle, jack, screwdriver, wrenches, pliers, adjustable wrench, fuses, fire extinguisher, tow rope, tire pump. Tom will issue the finalized list to Club members.
Joe Silverman discussed modern carburetors. Bob Hall brought in a bead breaker and tire lock for a Model A.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
The next meeting will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019 at the Penndale Middle School.
Refreshments for the March meeting will be provided by Howard Kriebel, Bob Martino, Perry Rogers, Ken Valeri and Jay Ogle.
