North Penn Model A Ford Club
Minutes of the Meeting
December 6, 2021
The meeting, held at Trinity Christian United Church of Christ in Skippack, was called to order at 7:00pm by Vice President Carol Allen. There were 33 attendees, both North Penn and Lehigh Valley club members.
Treasurer’s Report – The Treasury balance as of December 6 is $4,704.60. The separate account for the MARC Meet has a balance of $2819.09.
Recognized new members, Carol and Jim Decker, to our meeting.
Recent Events
There was a good turnout of members for the Lansdale Mardi Gras Parade. A lot of people lined the streets. Unfortunately, the parade moved much slower this year causing Ruth Ann and Phil’s car to stall. However, they took advantage of watching the rest of the parade go by.
Our club also participated in Souderton’s Holiday Parade. There were new people running the parade which caused some hiccups. These were easily overlooked from all the smiles on people’s faces as we drove by.
Future Events
January 1, 2022 – New Year’s Day run. Carol Allen to organize.
January 9, 2022 – Holiday Dinner and Gift Exchange at the Bay Pony Inn, 4-8pm.
February 26 – Boyertown Museum run. Carol Allen and Sue Wood to organize.
March 26 – To Be Determined run.
April 30 – To Be Determined run.
Fall – Gettysburg run.
Club Member Purchases
Cliff Wilson recently purchased a 1931 Ford.
Tony Russo recently purchased a 1929 Lincoln Locke body Phaeton.
Winterizing tips were discussed such as using the proper green antifreeze for pre-2000’s cars, maintaining a full battery charge with a battery tender, and adding Stabil mix to the gas tank. Howard Kriebel volunteered to provide and discussed other winterizing suggestions at a future meeting.
2022 MARC National Meet – June 5-11
Unfortunately, the host hotel (Holiday Inn) overbooked their rooms for the upcoming Meet. They are now contacting people informing them that their room is cancelled. Some of our members had their rooms cancelled and will now need to find accommodations in nearby hotels.
Barb Gormley continues to work with local hotels to block out rooms.
Next Meeting
February 7, 2022 at the Trinity Christian United Church of Christ in Skippack at 7pm.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:05pm. Refreshments were provided by Beth Howard, Gary Volpe, Ruth Ann Christ, and Bruce Brown.
