Election of Club officers
Before the election of officers, candidates were asked for their vision for the coming year. Phil Christ’s vision is to promote camaraderie and good fellowship and interest in the Model A. Ed Roth’s is to provide fiscal responsibility and oversight. Diane Hall’s is to produce an accurate and timely record of the meetings. Bob Martino would like to see more hands-on involvement with vehicles; speakers at meetings; meetings at various sites and possibly on a weekend; get more people involved; possibly sponsor a MARC meet jointly with another club.
A suggestion was made to establish a committee (2-3 people) to coordinate Club events and tours. This will be discussed at a future meeting.
With no nominees from the floor, the result of the election of officers is: Phil Christ, President; Bob Martino, Vice President; Ed Roth, Treasurer and Diane Hall, Secretary.

MARC News
Mark Howard submitted an “on the road again” article on the Club’s activities for the January/February issue of Model “A” News magazine. (His articles are published on the Club’s website.)
The 50/50 raffle was won by Tony Russo. A suggestion was made to change the format of the 50/50 to have 3 individual winners, with no money going to the Club. This was tabled for discussion at the February meeting.
Program
Dick Longcoy told a story about his father who worked for Mason Tire Co. The company made tire fabric 20” in diameter and 6’ long. His father would drive 12 hrs./day to check on the tire fabric. In September, 1926 he drove to Dearborn with tire fabric. Ford wanted to try the new tires. Mason Tire gave him $10 for gas and food.
Bob Martino presented a Ford Company movie introducing the new 1928 Model A to educate dealers and mechanics. The silent movie, from the Ford archives, showed Ford engineers assembling engine components they had designed for the new Model A. At the conclusion of the assembly, the film showed various test drives at different speed, on hills, across fields and gravel roads. The very interesting film resulted in some lively comments.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
The next meeting will be held on Monday, February 6, 2020 at the Penndale Middle School.
Refreshments for the February meeting will be provided by Steve Sensenich, Dick Longcoy, Lou Steskal and Tom Hudecki.
Minutes prepared by Diane Hall.
