2022 MARC National Meet Highlights (from Mark Howard)
We have received many great comments – best meet ever, so organized, great venue – all activities in one location. Check out the article and photos in the Model A News – and on the NPMAFC website.
Some details -- Over 600 people attended the Meet. 66 volunteers, most were North Penn and Lehigh Valley Club members. 10 seminars, attended by 478 people. 375 people attended the Grand Tour with approx. 150 Model A’s traversing the backroads of Morgantown. Approx. 400 people attended the Ice Cream Social.
The North Penn Auction raised $7254 for the Model A Museum. Bob Martino will be presenting a check at the Museum in September.
From all of our hard work, along with the generosity of people and companies donating their services, the Club ended with a surplus of $22,923! From that money, all of the volunteers will be refunded their $95 registration fee. This money will also be used to reduce the price of the Jan. Holiday Party to $10 per person.
Recognizing that this past year was focused on the Meet, we will hold a catered lunch/picnic for all North Penn and Lehigh Valley Club members. Details on date and location to follow. Dave and Sue Wood have offered their home and newly renovated barn for this event.
We want to specifically acknowledge all the hard work and talents of the following people: Bob Martino (chairman) for creating, spearheading and passionately leading this opportunity, Mark Howard (co-chairman) for leading and developing the graphic and print work, Mark Maron (co-chairman) for organizing and creating the Meet Program, Diane Hall for her diligent work with entering and sorting out all the registrations, Barbara Gormley for securing all the overflow hotel rooms and organizing all the goodie bags, Steven Sensenich for his masterful skill of developing and executing all the food and beverage services while adding numerous special details (player piano, centerpieces, artwork, etc.) to each event, Howard Kriebel for organizing all the seminar/meeting needs and Lady A’s tour, Cliff Craley for running all the raffles with his cheerful demeanor, Sue Wood for organizing and selling the North Penn merchandise, Irene and Earl MacIlwain for running the Auction, Carol Allen for organizing the Grand Tour route and sharing her tasty cooking skills, Dini Vigliano for heading the Hospitality Room, Tom Hudecki/Frank Falcone/Ken Valeri for organizing and running the Swap Meet, Gary Volpe for greeting the hundreds of Model A’ers as they arrived, Emily Ellway for organizing and executing all the youth events, Phyllis Pease for executing a glamourous Fashion Show, the Lehigh Valley Club for running the Repair Tent, the chassis disassembly/assembly events and all Model A mechanical needs.
