2022 MARC National Meet – June 5-11
The remainder of the meeting was devoted to updates on the MARC National Meet.
Bob Martino and Howard Kriebel refined the schedule for the week. Howard and Diane Hall are coordinating volunteers for pre-Meet and on-site Meet jobs. We will need approx. 8 people for some jobs.
Note: Everyone involved needs to register for the Meet. Reminder: North Penn and Lehigh Valley Model A Club members are not “guests” at the Meet; we’re all workers.
Logo/Shirts/Hats - A new logo was approved. Shirts will be green, with the logo. Hats will have embroidery but no logo. Cliff Craley volunteered to coordinate selling shirts, etc. at the Meet.
Raffle – Items will be donated by Club members and Meet attendees. Ruth Ann Christ will make a knitted lap throw and a shawl. Karen Roth will make a ceramic serving bowl.
Swap Meet – Tom Hudecki, Frank Falcone and Ken Valeri are coordinating this. Set up on Sunday and run Saturday morning. Bob Martino has 15 tables to use. Spaces need to be marked off. Brattons is sponsoring the swap meet; check to see if they have a banner.
Greeters are needed outside and inside the hotel. MARC is providing signs for Model A parking, general parking, RV parking, etc. Inside the hotel, greeters will direct attendees to registration, hospitality room, seminar rooms, etc. during the Meet.
Seminars – Sue Ryan and Howard Kriebel are working on presentations.
Auction – The auction is scheduled for Tuesday evening. Auction paddles will be for purchase and put in registration packet. Sue Ryan is donating her husband’s antique gas pump and air pump.
Grand Tour - The tour will start at the Holiday Inn, Morgantown, go to other participating hotels and continue on to Landis Valley Museum. The route will be printed in the Meet Booklet. Volunteers are needed to post directional signs along the tour route – and take them down following the tour.
Meet Booklet/Publicity/Advertising – Articles are needed for the book. We need sponsors (local businesses, automobile insurance companies, etc.) to purchase ads in the booklet.
Repair Tent – The Lehigh Valley Model A Club handling.
A suggestion was made to contact AAA tow operators in the Morgantown area to have a truck “on call” during the Meet. The tow truck and operator must be familiar with handling Model A vehicles. Carol Allen will contact AAA to sponsor (or co-sponsor) the Meet or a specific function.
Obstacle Course/Car Games – Carol Allen chairing. A dry run of the obstacle course, followed by a picnic, will be held in April.
A meeting will be held at Morgantown 2 weeks prior to the Meet to finalize all arrangements.
Next Planning Meeting
The next meeting will tentatively be held on Saturday, September 25, at 11 am at Bob Martino’s garage near Skippack. Tom Hudecki will arrange a tour before the meeting. All details to follow.
