Bruce Tempone presented his 1931 Ford Pick-up. Bruce’s family comes from the coal region. His grandfather was a miner until he had an accident. He then ran a poultry farm business and used the pick-up in the business. Bruce’s uncle bought the truck and then, in 2019 when he was 85, he sold it to Bruce. Bruce had the engine rebuilt at Schwam and a new radiator. The truck won the Grand National in 2020 MARC Meet in Gettysburg. Buce reminded us that you have to drive your cars! He needs to get his cars out more.
After Bruce retired, he bought an ’89 Mustang. He also has several high-wheel bikes. He has ridden his 1885 high wheel (48” wheel) in parades in Skippack and Michigan. He rides his high wheel in the Phila. Thanksgiving Parade every year. He has a Dutch tandem bike that folds into a suitcase that he and his wife Joanne ride.
Bruce also talked about a 2-day Old Car Festival at the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. You can drive your vintage car around Geeenfield Village.
