President Ed Roth opened the meeting at 7:37 p.m. with 27 members present.

Minutes of the September meeting were read and approved as written.

Charles Kerper treasurer reported a balance of $ 891.36 with a $ 29.00 deposit pending.

OLD BUSINESS:

October 25th – October run and picnic attendance at the home of John Haynes 3327 Gerryville Pike Hoppenville (Pennsburg, PA).  The affair is held rain or shine.  The club will meet in the back lot of the Wal-Mart near RT 113 for a 10:00 a.m. departure time.  Those attending are asked to bring a salad, side dish or dessert to share.

Several club members attended the Central Schwenkfelder’s Annual fair with their cars.

The club web site is now up and running.  Linda Kerper has volunteered to conduct a teaching session for uploading our own information onto the site.

A revised and updated “resource list” is available and copies were handed out at the meeting.

NEW BUSINESS:

Hershey car show is being held October 8 – 11.

Tech sessions: Howard Kriebel has volunteered to present a session on distributors at the November meeting.  Please call Joe Rogers or Jerry Anderson with suggestions for future topics.

We were informed that a California company has cast iron brake drums for sale for $ 260.00 for all 4 (plus shipping).  Further info will be included in the November Crossroads.

The school librarian has asked the club to participate in developing a show case of “Model A” items.  There seemed to be a positive response to the request at the meeting.

The Lansdale Annual Mardi Gras parade is being held Saturday November 22nd 2008 starting at 1:00 p.m.  The theme will be “Picture Perfect Holidays”.  We have responded with an entry registration and have requested a 4th place position.

Tool list – Barry Papiernik has some tools available at his garage.  A written list of available tools will be composed.  Any additions, donations or loan possibilities will be appreciated.  A suggestion was made to have a code of ownership marked on the tools to identify them.

Club elections – A nominating committee will present nominations at the November meeting for election at the December meeting.

Carol Allen’s phaeton is at Old Forge Collision in Chalfont.  All are invited to drop by and take a peak if they desire.  The car is totally disassembled.

Inquiries were made about the Riegelsville car show usually the first weekend in November (Sunday).  Info will be obtained and listed in the next Crossroads.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:27 p.m.

Respectfully submitted by,

Dini Vigliano – Secretary

THIS AND THAT:

AACA Hershey Meet:   It is with great pleasure that we acknowledge Dini for receiving her award at the event – a 1st Jr. for her Cabriolet “Howard”.  Model “T” and Model “A” judging is so very competitive.  The restoration was another job well done by Howard Kriebel.

Replacement Parts Alert:  Al Schneider had Dave Whitmire assist with his brake job.  It was found during the repairs that many of the “new” parts being reproduced seem to be of poor quality (out of tolerance).  Thankfully Dave had additional spares in his van so the job could be completed.  It is so fortunate that our club has so many members that share their talent and skills when assistance is required!

Rental Space Available:  For up to 3 cars.  Near Doylestown on a secure estate property (about a mile from where the White’s had lived).  24 hour access.  Garage space while un-heated is very weather tight, clean, dry, with water and electric.   Asking $100 each.     Dick Longcoy 215 672-4988

Cutting It Close: Sunday November 2 – Riegelsville, PA  "Fall Roll-Out Car Show" at the Riegelsville Ball Park, Route 611 south of Easton, PA.  Show 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Field opens at 8:00 am.  Registration Day of Show $25.00.

Reminder: The Lansdale Annual Mardi Gras parade is being held Saturday November 22nd 2008 starting at 1:00 p.m.  The theme will be “Picture Perfect Holidays”.  As noted in the minutes, we have responded with an entry registration and have requested a 4th place position.

Web Site Update: On Tuesday Oct 28th Linda Kerper led the Roth’s and Longcoy’s thru a sample set up of our web site.  It was hoped to be able to have members look up this November issue in the Crossroads section but we didn’t finalize the set-up in time.  Keep looking.

FINDING YOUR MATE

You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff.  Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip

coming. -- Alan, age 10

No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you're stuck with. -- Kristen, age 10
